Maintaining Your Filters

All Fritted Ware should be cleaned with diluted HCL, followed by several rinses of distilled water under vacuum.

When using, glass filters should be cleaned immediately after. This will prolong the life of the filter, and also be ready for reuse. Usually water is sufficient in cleaning the disc, then allow to air dry or wipe dry with sponge or towel. If pores are clogged, back flush or use a warm detergent solution.


Hot concentrated phosphoric acid and hot alkaline solutions attack the glass surfaces. Do not use as cleaning solutions, this will increase the pore size and reduce the life of the disc.
